"Call Girl Wives" review

Call Girl Wives (2005)

Directed by Michael Whiteacre
Writing credits Patrick Hobby

Shyla.... Amanda (as Amanda Auclair)
Taimie Hannum.... Taimie
Ashley Long.... Ashley
Julie K. Smith.... Julie the Understudy (as Julie Smith)
Ashley Blue.... Video Vixen
Brittany Andrews.... The Madam (as Miss Brittany Andrews)

I saw this on cable the other day. Three wives decide to become call girls. They are the "Call Girl Wives". They're a little shy at first but then they start to loosen up when they realize all the money they can make. That pretty much says it all about this one. It's not complicated.

"Call Girl Wives" is great. A triumph for late night skin flicks. I don't know how anyone cannot like this movie. Any flick that starts off with an all girl three-way gets my vote. The scene starts off with the ladies showering and then getting all dressed up. You think they are going out on the town. Then they undress and roll around with each other next to the fireplace. This scene was brilliant. Totally hot. There are plenty of other good sex scenes in this one as well. "Call Girl Wives" is a must see. The wives are hot and horny. You can't ask for more than that.

SCORE: 3 out of 4 for a call girl wives party by the fireplace.

The wives know how to party.

This is the first review I ever read of one of my erotic pics, and it remains the one of which I'm most proud -- not only because it's so complimentary, but also because it picks up on the greatest single directorial challenge of the pic -- actually, this is the omnipresent, essential challenge -- that of leading the audience along to believe or expect something, and then giving them the outcome of your choosing. You bit. It may not seem much, and technically it isn't, but if I didn't pull off the ladies night "switch," the movie would have collapsed before it got started, and no amount of nudity or in-jokes would have saved it -- and therefore, no HBO/Cinemax airings! So, thanks again.

That opening three-way scene was great. It jump started the movie and kept it rolling. I liked the music that was playing, the way the light from the fireplace hit their bodies, and of course, all of the hot sex that was going on. The "switch" worked because of all the time spent looking at the wives shower and dress up. You thought they were going out, and consequently had to sit through some scenes of them going to a bar/party, etc. but instead are rewarded with an instant three-way sex scene. That's how you start a movie.

Strangely enough -- I've never understood or forgiven this -- my beloved gaffer, Dave (who actually plays Dave the gaffer in Busty Cops, FYI), fell dead asleep during the filming of our beloved three-way scene. Being a part of my crew, I expect a hung-over degenerate, but this was Day 2! Perhaps the frustration of being so close yet so very far from so much good action on Day 1 (concluding with Ashley Long's energetic b/g) prevented restful sleep, but regardless, I kicked him in awe-drenched disgust.

For that scene and its expositional (expository?) coda, I only had two Duraflame logs to use on the fire, so I calculated: 20 minutes to shoot the sex and 20 minutes for the dialogue. Forty minutes of actual shooting time and one Yentl joke later, we were moving on.

I think they could take that three-way scene and use it as a teaching tool at Softcore university. It captures all that is good about softcore flicks. It is truly a beloved scene. Any man who fell asleep during that scene must have been on an all night bender. A well deserved kick for sure.

I'm watching this on Showtime right now. Hot film! Been checking online to buy the DVD, but no luck finding it anywhere. :(

Mr. LeMar,

Sadly, CGW was never released on DVD in the US. There does exist, however, a PAL version released in the United Kingdom in 2005, copies of which sometimes crop up on eBay. Happy hunting, and thanks for your interest.

Cheers,

Michael Whiteacre

@ Michael Whiteacre: I've got a Region Free DVD, because I've got several foreign dvds. I've tried Ebay and Amazon UK, but no luck. Amazon UK has it "currently unavailable." There's a used DVD with that title on sale, but there's no cover image, and I can't absolutely be sure it's the same film, so I don't want to spend the money for it (I've been burned on that sort of thing before). Unfortunately, because I still have an old TV with my new DVD/VCR players, I'm not able to tape anything off the TV, or else I'd just catch the next CGW rerun on Showtime. I see that Nitrovideo and ultimate-celebs have the sex scenes from the movie available for download, but I've never subscribed to one of those sites before.

Just popping in again. Been working lots of overtime this month, so my last paycheck was higher than usual, so I decided to spend part of my windfall by taking a chance on that used DVD that Amazon UK had for sale. Just got it in the mail today, popped it into the DVD player as soon as I got home and YES! It's the right film!
